Mon Repos Palace

The Mon Repos estate is located in Palaiopoli, right next to Kanoni and only 10 km from Gouvia. Inside to the beautiful estate there is a wonderful park and the villa which was built by the British High Commissioner Adams and was used as the summer residence of the Greek Royal Family from 1864 until till 1967.

Today, the villa operates as Paleopolis museum. The theater “Rena Vlachopoulou” is open to the public in the summer and offers a variety of performances while locals swim at the beach below from the palace. Moreover, the ancient ruins of the temples of Apollon and Hera can be found inside the estate.
